Baseball: Six Mundelein players make first-team all-conference

The North Suburban Conference has named its 2012 all-conference baseball team.
Mundelein, which beat Vernon Hills in the NSC title game, had a team-high six first-team selections: Will Farmer (Jr., SS), Matt Langlie (Sr., P), Jared Mandel (Sr., P)., Chris Maranto (Sr., 2B), Tor Randau (Sr., OF) and Jordan Wiegold (Sr., C).
Lake Zurich placed five players on the first team: Sean Eder (Sr., OF), Tanner Kiser (Jr., 1B), Mike Lutz (Sr., P), John Orlando (Sr., OF) and Wyatt Spector (Sr., P).
Vernon Hills and Libertyville each had four first-teamers. MJ Crowley (Sr., P/OF), Tyler Feece (Jr., P/1B), Austin Hagen (Sr., OF) and Chris Marras (Sr., C) made it for Vernon Hills.
Kyle Cibrario (Sr., P), Nick Coutre (Sr., OF), Anthony Mack (Sr., SS) and Darwin Townsend (Sr., P/1B) made it for Libertyville.
Three Stevenson players earned first-team honors: Steve Galanopoulos (Sr., OF), Max Golembo (Sr., OF) and Adam Walton (Sr., SS).
Matt Lawrence (Sr., OF) and John Muscarello (Sr., P) maded the list for Lake Forest.
Other selections include Antioch’s Joe Gregory, David Meade and Mitch Everett; Grant’s Jared Helmich, Jake Ring and Jordan Villarreal; Lakes’ Jake Brown, Chris Hoffman and Nick Traska; Round Lake’s Anthony Burton; Warren’s Pat Kenney, Nick Orslini and Adam Reuss; Wauconda’s Kyle Bock, Brandon Gibis, Shawn Sundquist and Jake Zlokowski; and Zion-Benton’s Mark Lynam.
Mundelein had three honorable mentions in Ryan Borucki, Thomas Gandolfi and Bryan Wiener.
Two Lake Zurich players were honorable mentions: Anthony Drago and Jacob LaRue.
At Stevenson, Jack Karras and Jon Saverise were honorable mentions, while Vernon Hills had two honorable mentions in Pat Crowley and Steve Nelson.
Libertyville’s Evan Skoug and Lake Forest’s Jordan Beck also earned honorable mentions.
The list also includes Antioch’s Danny Arden; Grant’s Brent Spohr and Simeon Lucas; Lakes’ Justin Demand and Mike Bartlett; North Chicago’s Lance Kneeland; Warren’s Alex Letto and Anthony Garza; Wauconda’s Tony Kaminsky; and Zion-Benton’s Alex Pasiewicz.
