Mundelein Fire Chief Tim Sashko said his department’s training program is so strong, many other towns are eager to snatch up his contract firefighters. But he didn’t want to lose Dan Buhrmester, who sat atop Mundelein’s qualification list. So Sashko lobbied for another position before someone else beat him to hire the prized recruit.
