The private grounds of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein are home of the main seminary of the Archdiocese of Chicago as well as a thriving year-round deer population.
The campus, in the village of Mundelein, spreads over 600 acres and first opened in 1844. It closed in 1866 and reopened in 1921.
