Mundelein Police Blotter for June 4

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Mundelein Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

MUNDELEIN

DUI

Rosalyn S. Oberth, 22, of 809 W. Hillside, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, disregarding a stop sign and squealing tires after a traffic stop on May 25 at Courtland and Greenview. Officer observed a vehicle squeal its tires and disregard a stop sign, reports say. Officer made contact with the driver and observed signs of intoxication, field sobriety tests were offered and subject was arrested, reports say. She posted her driver’s license and was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond pending a June 15 court date in Waukegan.

William S. O’Connor, 39, of 2810 Cattail, Unit C, Wauconda, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI (BAC over .08) and speeding on May 26 at Schank Avenue and Route 176. Officer observed a vehicle speeding. Officer made contact with the driver and observed signs of intoxication, field sobriety tests were offered and subject was arrested, reports say. He posted his driver’s license and was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond pending a July 6 court date in Waukegan.

THEFT

Joseph S. Janowitz, 53, of 1311 Orleans Drive, Mundelein, was charged with theft on May 26 at a store in the 400 block of Townline Road. Reports say subject was observed passing the last pay station with groceries. Subject was stopped by employees and arrested by police upon arrival, reports say. He was issued a notice to appear and released pending a June 21 court date in Mundelein.
