Mundelein Police Blotter for May 16

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Mundelein Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

MUNDELEIN

BATTERY

Oscar Morales, 23, of 700 McKinley #208, Mundelein, was charged with battery, disorderly conduct and assault on May 6 in the 400 block of Hickory. Subject was involved in a disturbance and subsequently arrested for battery and assault. Subject was identified as a suspect in an investigation where a female was inappropriately touched on April 29, reports say. Subject was additionally charged with battery and disorderly conduct from that incident. He was remanded to the Lake County Jail on $25,000 bond pending a May 25 court date in Waukegan.

DUI

Steven J. Babiez, 51, of 1046 Wrensgate, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI (BAC over .08), improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol on May 10 at Route 45 and Allanson Road. Subject was stopped for improper lane usage. Officer observed signs of intoxication, field sobriety tests were offered and subject was arrested, reports say. He was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond pending a June 8 court date in Waukegan.

Miguel Jimenez, 23, of 524 McKinley #27, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI (BAC over .08), improper lane usage, speeding, illegal signal, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving without a valid license on May 11 at Hawley and Prospect. Subject was stopped for improper lane usage and speeding. Officer observed signs of intoxication, field sobriety tests were offered and subject was arrested, reports say. He was released after posting $300 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 1 in Waukegan.
