concert

The Cook Memorial Public Library District will host an end-of-summer concert featuring singer/songwriter Dave Rudolf on Aug. 14 in Cook Park. The interactive family show will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the Cook Mansion steps. Admission is free.

Rudolf, who is from the Chicago area, is not only a singer and a songwriter but also a children’s book author who has entertained families and children with his wit and musical talent for more than 20 years. In addition to Rudolf’s original music and fun-in-the-sun favorites, there will be hula hoops, beach balls, a conga line, limbo, bubble machines and other activities.

Mundelein
provides crime data online

The Mundelein Police Department announces that citizens can now gain access to neighborhood-level crime incident data in near real time.

The public can access the free crime data through www.CrimeReports.com or through the CrimeReports iPhone app, available as a free download at Apple iTunes stores. Citizens sign up for free customized e-mail updates so they can monitor crime in their neighborhood.

“Information is power,” said Mundelein Police Chief Raymond Rose. “We hope that giving the community this information will help them understand crime trends and lower crime in their neighborhoods.”

Dancenter North announces fall
registration

Dancenter North announces registration has begun for their fall semester of classes, which begins on Sept. 1 and continues through Jan. 18.

Dancenter North offers classes for all ages and levels, from pre-ballet for three year olds to fitness classes for adults. The studio will be holding placement classes for all new students. All placement classes are free.

Registration office hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, and from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Individuals may register for classes in person during office hours, by calling the office at (847) 367-7970 or by mail. Dancenter North is located at 540 North Milwaukee Ave. in downtown Libertyville.

Sports Complex unveils fall brochure

The Fall Registration Brochure for the Libertyville Recreation and Sports Complex department has been mailed to all Libertyville households. The 52-page registration brochure features activities, events and recreation programs that will be offered during the fall and winter months.

Libertyville residents can register with “instant registration” privileges once their receive their brochures in the mail. Non-residents can also register starting Aug. 8.
