Mundelein Police Blotter for July 23

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Mundelein Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Mundelein

CHILD ENDANGERMENT

Margarita Marquez, 38, of 208 Longwood Terrace, Mundelein, was charged with endangering the life/health of a child on July 19 in the 200 block of Longwood Terrace. Officers responded to a fight involving two juveniles. After an investigation, it was determined that Marquez was the mother of one of the juveniles fighting and she was videotaping the fight with a phone, reports say. Marquez also was encouraging the fight and she was arrested, reports say. She was released on a $1,500 recognizance bond pending an Aug. 10 court date in Waukegan.

DUI

Andrew Moreno, 23, of 203 Springbrook Court, Mundelein, was charged with DUI (drugs), improper lane usage, following too closely, possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance on July 17 in the 3100 block of Route 60. Subject was stopped for improper lane usage and following too closely. Officer observed signs of impairment, field sobriety tests were offered and subject was arrested, reports say. He posted his driver’s license and was released on a $1,000 recognizance bond pending an Aug. 17 court date in Waukegan.

Christian M. Garcia, 21, of 1400 Laredo St., Napa, Calif., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI (BAC over .08), improper lane usage and disorderly conduct following a traffic stop on July 22 at Route 45 and University Drive. Subject was stopped for improper lane usage. Officers observed signs of intoxication, field sobriety tests were offered and subject was arrested, reports say. He was released on a $3,000 recognizance bond pending an Aug. 17 court date in Waukegan.
