Purchase tickets for Diamond Gala online
Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to enjoy a fun-filled evening at the first ever Diamond Gala. The event, sponsored by the Diamond Lake Education Foundation, is being held on March 10 at the Doubletree Mundelein. Students compete for free tickets
The Chicago Wolves’ Read to Succeed program is wrapping up at all three District 76 schools. Students at Diamond Lake School and West Oak Middle School are eligible for a free ticket to the March 4 Chicago Wolves’ game if they read at least three books by Feb.10. Fairhaven School students must read or be read ten books by Feb. 10 to attend the game. Reading logs and ticket orders are due to school offices by Feb.10.
Middle School wins Penny Wars
Congratulations to the sixth grade class at West Oak Middle School for its first-place finish in Penny Wars. The competition among all four grades to bring in the most pennies over a month period was fierce. In the end, the true winners are those helped by the Make-A-Wish Foundation who will receive a donation of over $500 from the middle school.
Sweetheart Ball a big success
Daddies and their darling daughters danced the night away at the PTO’s annual Sweetheart Ball. Everyone got dressed up and enjoyed a great night out, with terrific music provided by professional DJ Personalities.
Spring Book Fair gearing up
It’s not a trip to Hawaii, but the West Oak student and staff population are saying “Aloha!” to the annual Spring Book Fair. The event is being held in the school’s media center Feb. 13-16. Fairhaven School’s book fair will run from Feb. 21 - 23.
Parents encouraged to make conference date
Parents of students at Fairhaven School and West Oak Middle School are encouraged to call their respective school office to schedule conference with staff members.
West Oak places in Perfect Attendance Week
West Oak Middle School once again placed in the top ten schools of Lake County during Perfect Attendance Week. Thanks to the students and their parents for recognizing the importance of consistent attendance.
