Lake County Forest Preserves’ Events in the Plaza concert series will feature jazz by the Fareed Haque Trio at 7:30 p.m. July 24 in Independence Grove Forest Preserve’s outdoor amphitheater, Millennia Plaza, 16400 W. Buckley Road, Libertyville. Bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. Parking is $5 per car after 5 p.m. The walk-up cafe is open during the concert, serving a variety of entrees, snacks and beverages. A rock singer travels to a small Ohio town to make his “farewell” television performance and kiss his biggest fan before he is drafted. 4. “Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary Event” will be shown at 7 p.m. July 23 at local movie theaters, including Lincolnshire 21, 300 Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire. The presentation includes interviews with the original cast members and behind-the-scenes looks at the artists who created the original FX elements and photography during the making of the show.
