1. Claire Cook, bestselling author of Must Love Dogs, will present her new book, Wallflower in Bloom, during a luncheon at noon June 7 at the Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. 2. Deerfield Festival of Fine Arts, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 2-3 on Park Avenue just north of Deerfield Road, Deerfield. More than 100 artists from 18 states will offer paintings, photography, jewelry, fiber, sculpture, mixed media works and ceramics, and there will be live music by Edgar Gabriel’s String Fusion, Kraig Kenning and others. Also, the Deerfield-Bannockburn-Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce will host Dine Out in Deerfield, with several local restaurants offering food specialties. Visit www.dwevents.org.

4. Ragdale Day — A Celebration of the Arts, noon-4 p.m. June 3 at Ragdale, 1230 N. Green Bay Road, Lake Forest. The event features open studios, dance and music performances, family activities and tours. Visitors can see the inner workings of Ragdale’s artist retreat, experience the poetry, dance, music and art created there, and visit the newly restored Ragdale House. All ages welcome.
